Saw it last night - there is a very decent R5 DVD rip doing the rounds in the usual places.
Enjoyed it just fine. Nothing earth-shattering, nothing staggeringly different from the first one, just a decent fantasy action romp with entertaining characters.
Not so much focus on Big Red himself in this one but this wasn't a bad thing as Abe is a pretty interesting character I suppose.
Fairly cheesy with the sentiment, but nothing too cloying.
Beautiful art design on the characters and a really nice blend of real life prosthetics/animatronics and CGI to create some fantastic creatures and environments.
If you liked the first one you will get a kick out of this - bigger, better, more.
If you weren't a fan of the original Hellboy but enjoyed Del Toro's more serious work (Pan's Labyrinth, Devils Backbone etc) I don't think this one will be for you, expect perhaps to gawk at the trademark visual design.
