Growing Lion's Mane mushrooms...

Sounds like a cure-all, with a variety of small studies where the researchers plucked a condition out of the air and stuffed it into a few rats.

I find it hard to believe that will be eventually be shown to improve anxiety, depression, heart health, immune function, cognition, diabetes, cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease in humans, as suggested here: Lion's mane mushrooms: Benefits and side effects

Yeah, I agree, but they still might have some long term beneficial effect. I'd be interested in growing them just for the experiment of growing anyway, as I enjoyed the process of growing magic shrooms.

I saw this recommended elsewhere to help with ADHD but it’s just like all the other supplements - snake oil.

Aye, hence my posting. None of the supplements suggested to me have ever worked. Well, apart from the Vitamin D
That'll be because every single human being reacts differently to everything they ingest, according to their current gut microbiome/general state of health. If something doesn't work for you personally, that doesn't automatically mean that no one at all would benefit from it.

I’ll do some reading on it but can’t see much scientific proof that it works yet.
Nothing seems to work on me though, esp sleep remedies (not that lion’s mane is) - even melatonin has no effect on me.
Maybe I’m a physiological freak! :D

Oh, I see you've been banned. Hopefully you can pick this up next time you're back on the boards.

Anyhoo, I found personally that it unexpectedly improved my perma-shit short-term memory and my focus. I'd only started taking it as a dementia preventative, so was very surprised to notice these effects.

Also, I tried taking turmeric and black pepper capsules ages ago for arthritis pain, and it did fuck all. I tried it again recently out of desperation, and to my great surprise, it is working! So something has changed, and it is almost certainly my gut microbiome, which is unique to each person, and changes all the time according to what you eat.
