Goa to Mumbai: An alternative route is needed.

I'm going to Goa for a week before heading down to Mumbai to meet my girlfriend.

Basically, I'd like to try and get down to Mumbai avoiding all the places that I intend to visit with my girlfriend later in our holiday. For example Ooty, Hampi, Mysore and Kerela.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind getting somewhere then flying the remainder of the way down. Its looks like a look old trek anyway.

Um...I will try and help but Mumbai is UP from Goa and places like Hampi and Kerala are a fair distance away from each other too. Mumbai to Goa is a 12 hour train journey best done at night in a sleeping carriage.
