What seemed more impressive to me was the 40,000 increase from the previous British international record, which was only 29,000.

And, by all accounts, it sounds like the women put on a good display for them.

I was sitting right behind the goal where we missed the penalty, but what a fantastic game even though there was only one goal! A lot of Brazilians there as well, a terrific atmosphere. This has got to have helped put women's football on the map at last, and it's getting so popular amongst young girls now too.

Hubby watched the game and thought the the GB was crap. He thought we would wipe them 3-1. He was wrong - we shut them out.
