Feliway diffuser for cats

recommended by the vet after trying all sorts for my cat to stop peeing and pooping ( cleaning up, fresh litter daily, aversion sprays, putting him out regularly, catnip etc etc etc)

Ive paid up (£30) OUCH and plugged it in

Cat has been wandering about in a happy daze ever since..very cwtchy, almost stoned... has stopped grooming himself constantly ( which he has always done and I thought was normal, hes my first puss)

He's completely wankered..... stoned off his little box and crashed on the sofa, very cwtchy *cuddly for the english urbs* and just wants to nuzzle til he did my head in and I chucked him off when he lay on my feet and went zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz instead of begging to go out


anyone got any experience of feliway??? is this good? just what happens at the start??

I quite like his new chilled out persona... though he was never a bother
Its hillarious watching my stoned lil kitty cat snoozing at 3AM!!!!

We've used feliway and i do believe it has an effect on the mogs although ours are reasonably laid back now so the effect isn't so extreme. We also used it when we moved house and i think it helped to a degree - pleased yours has reacted like he's overdone the catnip tho

Is your mog getting beaten up by another one at all ? I think ours pee and poo inappropriately when they're having a turf war.

i've not tried for this for mine - sometimes a cat messes indiscrimnately cos they're in distress over territory.

Sounds like good stuff if it's chilling him out like this!

I don't understand this stuff at all. Surely all cats have slightly different scents otherwise how would they know whose territory was whose? How can there be a tandard scent that all cats respond too?

I do believe its a turf war thing yes. There is another male cat who visits our garden and marks outside, hes then peeing indoors, near where the other cat must bemarking outdoors.

The diffuser contains hormones which helps them chill out, its not a scent as I understand it

Hes still all whacked out but perfectly happy and playful at other times, hes just doing loads of wuvvvvv you type behaviour
