Oh come off it, Thaatre of blood was spectacularly atrocious!Diana Rigg, Doncaster’s divinest daughter, has passed away.
she could never top her early screen performances in the one true Avengers, tho gave it a game go in the Assasnation Bureau and Theatre of Blood, not to mention the Great Muppet Caper.

Diana’s favourite of her own films, apparently. There was a stage version where daughter Rachael played her role.Oh come on, Theatre of Blood really was atrocious!
But I agree, she was fantastic in every other sense
Really?Diana’s favourite of her own films, apparently.
I loved that scene with Jamie Lannister. She was wonderful!Ace in Game of Thrones. Proper kick-ass character who - no spoilers, don't worry- had a brilliant scene near the end with Jamie Lannister.
Good character in Detectorists too- could've just been stereotypical nasty mother-in-law but became something much more than that. I didn't know that was her daughter she was working with in that, that's cool.
not everyone is old enough to remember a tv programme from Hyde 60s
Despite being directed by the worst British director of all time, it had a high caliber supporting cast of middle aged luvvies and she probably got to hang out with her mates. Film pays better than stage work and I don't think she got that many offers for films.I've always been baffled by the talent, including Rigg, in this truly awful film by Michael Winner. Won of the worst British films ever made.
Why did you do it Diana?
Rumer Godden lived (and died I believe) near where I grew up. She even opened the church fete one year when I was a kid. (Unsurprisingly, she was Catholic and used to attend that church.)She'll also be in an upcoming tv adaptation of Black Narcissus. The Powell & Pressburger film is one of my favourite films of all time so I'm curious how this will compare.
Great piece. Also found out from reading that: the son in law mentioned is that boring fella off of radio 6 - Guy GarveyNice piece for Edgar Wright about working with her on-her final film

Have you watched any of it ? Reviews haven't been great, it doesn't seem to add much to the film despite being twice the length.Sorry people, only just thought to post this and it will be on catch up Not her greatest role, she is in this Black Narcissus, Series 1: Episode 2: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p08x8krg via @bbciplayer
Your guess is as good as mine on that. My posts from my low-budget smart phone often go wrong and sometimes I don't notice.
