Essential Trump/Alt-Right Ridicule Thread

One thing that I notice time and again is that there's a lag between when there's a major announcement, and when my right-wing friends post about it. Then, they all post the exact same take on events. It's like they're waiting to be told what to think. I figure they'll start posting about this tomorrow, after they've soaked up enough propaganda to organize their thoughts. Sometimes it's a little eerie.

The Onion has been on very good form recently

What these partisan hacks need to get through their thick skulls is that political concerns are permitted, by general agreement, or at least by the threat of state violence standing in for democratic accord, to make legal structures and consequences selectively applicable.

But this is just another example of big-city legal departments wielding the law for political aims. I mean, seriously, just look at how the law is selectively enforced on the Black populations of U.S. cities, with arrest and incarceration rates far outstripping those of whites. The critical race theories of Derrick Bell, Kimberlé Williams Crenshaw, and others are instructive on this point, positing that legal progress for Black people only occurs when it converges with the political interests of the white elite. Of course, I’d expect nothing less from a sad, declining country where political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

this better hold up. otoh, two ADAs quit because they thought the office had a case but wouldn't bring it out of fear.
otoh, Putting aside Trump’s characterization of a “witch hunt,” the hush money case brought against him appears to rest on an untested legal theory.

otoh,

The critique is that Bragg’s anticipated charges—purportedly stemming from Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s payoff of Stormy Daniels to hide a marital affair prior to the election and Trump’s reimbursement under the guise of legal fees—is a novel, untested theory that shouldn’t be waged against a former indictment.

These criticisms are premature and possibly even misplaced. After all, former CFO of the Trump Organization, Allen Weisselberg, pled guilty, among other things, to the same charge expected in the Trump indictment—falsifying records.

borough newspapers are in on it too

A Queens man was indicted Thursday for allegedly making hush money payments to a porn star shortly before he was elected president of the United States in 2016.

getting one back for dad

She’s a major cunt herself, as is her husband of ‘The Federalist’. The only reason her own parents were never indicted for several things is due to their enormous establishment privilege. Her cheap digs need to be seen in their proper context.

I know who and what she is. The proper context is the opportunity of a perfect retort.

Rolling news coverage including the BBCs is trying to hype up the scene but so far protester turnout has been relatively pathetic so there is quite a gap between some of the press hyperbole and the actual scene.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has added to the shit comedy by comparing Trump to Jesus and Nelson Mandela. And Trump enabled us to tick off an obvious choice on the shit bingo card by claiming he was worried that America is turning into a Marxist Third World country.

Its a bit like the pathetic spectacle of a TV series that had long since burnt itself out and should have been cancelled before the storylines ended up scraping the barrel to this extent.

not able to link to anything but have seen people linking the date to when MLK was arrested

if anything that shows how the system has progressed in the states

This is such a fucking terrible move from anyone who doesn't want to see Trump back in the white house.

This is perfect for him. He must be over the moon. He can still be president even if he's convicted.

There will be no mugshot

That's not been confirmed. And Sky are saying it's mandatory.

I'm far from a conspiracy theorist, but the DA here must surely have weighed up the political ramifications and realised very well this would propel him to the GOP nomination and therefore the Presidency given that Biden is a senile, very old man who can barely string a sentence together.

Just checked the betting sites. Trump is now pretty much evens with Biden. Biden slight favourite. But very slight. And I think we all know who the better campaigner is.

It does seem absolutely insane that he can even run, let alone be President, if he's convicted. But he can.
