Crunch time -- saw my bro on Tuesday

Not an easy decision this, but it had to be made -- we can't come

I've been intermittantly muttering/grumbling about this rubbish dateclash on this thread for a while now, but my brother's 50th birthday mini-festival/party in Wales is that very weekend and much though Deb and I would both like to get out of going, it's really not fair to and I'd hate myself if I did. Deb's been saying we have to do the right thing and she's right. Saw my brother on Tuesday and finally bit the bullet and undertook to get to his do.

That party will be a good little event of ca 400 people, set in a beautiful mid Wales valley, loads of proper (FREE!) beer out of actual barrels at a bar, a big marquee with a stage and various pretty good acoustic and folk musicians including professional names, going fairly crazy :)

But I'll REALLY miss Endorse It :( -- have a great time everyone :) -- it's shaping up to be fantastic :hmm:

Will have two tickets to sell on at cost later on, watch this space. Will be seeing many of you at loads of other festivals.

We will **so** be back in 2009 ....

Brilliant news about Alabama 3 and Daisy. Get that ticket bought now.

William-that's a shame but your brothers party does sound

It's not so much a 'point' really, more that if you don't appreciate Alabama 3 then you're clearly tone deaf :)

I'm afraid it does Tanky :(

They're also one of the best live bands in the country

ah now, see, I'm tempted to say I don't like them just because you're bullying me

and if they clash with the cropdusters, then I won't be watching alabama 3 :D

ah ha, I've just remembered that I can get sound out of this computer at work, so if they have a myspace then I'll have a quick listen now.

Enjoy it all anyway people

Thanks for that :), you're right, it'll be fine :)

Just so annoying that he had to choose the date I pleaded with him to avoid if he could, I'd have been far more equable about going to him in the weekend before or in the Beautiful Days weekend. But he needed to co-ordinate busy musicians, make sure when guests generally could come, order a marquee, the beer, etc. That's the way of these things, organising even small events is a fucker as Flounder and others know even more <shrugs>

Plenty of other fests .....
