EDL not welcome in Leeds May 4th

Moortown, with a significant Jewish community, who held meetings in the area to oppose the NF during the 1970's.

The EDL waving Stella Cans marching down Street Lane is unlikely to go down well with the locals.

After the station they won't get as far as the wetherspoons on Park Row before turning on each other.

Fuck it, i'm off to laugh at them :D

fuck EDL rocking up on my doorstep.

I'd bet they'll be basing themselves out of the pub in the shopping centre - google tells me it's called the penny fun.... never been in it myself mind, but presuming it's still open that'll be where they'll end up I'd expect.

tbf they don't need pubs. all they require is a few cans in a car park :D

hope uaf don't act like they did before at the last leeds demo.

do tell, first and only time I went on a uaf thing was dishing out anti-bnp flyers in sunderland for some reason that now escapes me.

I do remember some swappie types in the stwc seeming quite happy to collaborate with the police to get us off the road when all our lot, and pretty much everyone not a swappie type had blockaded a couple of random roads on the evening the iraq war started. I think they were probably trying to do it for our own good to stop us getting nicked, but missed the point that we didn't really give a toss if we got nicked, and weren't in the mood for backing down anyway... at least not until we'd made some sort of a token point.

Pretty similar to what you just mentioned. Anarchists tried to go down alternative streets and attack the demo from the back but UAF/SWP told the police.
They also grassed up someone throwing bottles who was subsequently snatched.
