Duvet covers with poppers

Maggot

The Cake of Liberty
No, I'm not talking about trying to change duvet covers whilst on amyl nitrate. I'm referring to ones fastened with poppers. They are so much easier to open and close, and I want to buy another one. The problem is that none of the ones I've looked at online specify how they are fastened, or say they use buttons. I can't find any which definitely use poppers.

Any suggestions? Anyone else in this position?

Got my last one on ebay and it's best I've ever had. Poppers plus the opening is about 2/3rds the width so the duvet stays in better when you're putting it on (difficult with a super king size).

The listing I bought is no longer for sale but it was described as "STRIPE 600TC DUVET COVER 100% EGYPTIAN COTTON DOUBLE SUPER KING SIZE BEDDING SET" and I'm sure there are loads on there with a slightly different title...

edit; Pretty sure it was this:

They even have a category for fastening type:

Dunelm? Isn't that the answer to life these days, Dunelm? Choose one, ring them up and ask them. Mine is poppers from Dunelm.

Here endeth the advert for Dunelm.
If you have to phone them up, it defeats the point of online shopping.

Also i don't know much about Dunelm, are they any good?

John Lewis have loads of popper-operated covers, and there's usually bargain ones to be found at your local TK Maxx.

They're brilliant. No buttons, no poppers, fits every time.

I'm sure they can be ok if you sleep like a decaying log and make the bed daily like you work in Claridge's, but normal people will find the duvet inevitably works it's way out of the stupid flap thing.

I looked at the John Lewis website, and they don't specify the fastening type.

Now the Croydon one is closed, there aren't any near me.

Buttons come off in the washing machine, and envelope style ones are just useless.

Press studs don't come undone unless you're foolish enough to buy a duvet with crap ones.

I practically kick box in my sleep and that has never happened. Maybe it's a problem with single duvets.

In time honoured Urban tradition rather than actually help I'm posting to tell you that poppers are crap (not amyl, that's great) and you should get envelope style duvet covers instead.

I have never seen such a thing. Do you have a photo?

I do have one where instead of fastenings it the opening end is sewn about of a third of the way in from each side then in the middle third the material is longer so you have an opening that is one third of the width of the cover and is longer so can be tucked under the mattress. I have no strong feelings about this as an alternative, although it does mean no faffing with buttons or poppers.

Here we also have loops on the quilt and two tapes on the inside corners of the cover so you can tie it in, adding greatly to the fiddle factor but at least holding in place once done. Don't recall them at home. See zips haven't been mentioned either, are they frowned on? Never been scraped by the ones on ours.

That's the ones. No need to tuck in though. Me and Mrs maomao are same bed separate duvets and I really resent doing the buttons on her ones now.

In what way is what I described an envelope? If yours is what I describe what do you do with the extra expanse of fabric? This is very unsatisfactory.

I didn't name them. I would have come up with a better name than that. 'Giant cloth fannies' or something. I just let it dangle and don't have a problem with that cause it means my feet don't stick out the bottom.

Perhaps Dunelm is not ready for Giant cloth fanny duvet covers. Funnel opening? See I like to tuck it in to anchor the duvet. It doesn't work very well at that, admittedly.

Anyway I choose covers based on liking the pattern not by the opening so whatevs.
