If you go to The Bowes, the swan might be working again now. When I visited, they set it working at 1 or 2 pm, each day, get there early! It is an astonishing automaton.

Then village of 'Once Brewed' is only 50 miles away from Durham. Once Brewed is/was famous for the Hadrians Wall sycamore tree.. Well worth a visit

Loving it! City is very charming indeed. Weathers beautiful today. And yes the dugs have plenty of personality!
