Not getting on with the new album at all - very proggy and noodly. Not to worry though, their second drummer has just put out a new one with Warm Drag (LP = same name) that is fantastic and should take care of all your modern sleazy caveman needs - a sample:
They're trying to progress too quickly. They need to regroup in the cave quickly.

Floating Coffin is their best and most accessible album, so start there I reckon.

I agree - there's some great songs on there, but also some that don't quite work, and one song in particular - Anthemic Agressor - which is clearly meant to be the central grand masterpiece of the record, but in fact it's boring and unlistenable and it just blows a hole in the LP. Also the goblin warrior style lyrics are starting to wear a bit thin. Overall it's a 6/10 record.
Still, there'll be another Oh Sees album along next year I'm sure, so we'll see what we get then, eh? Hopefully Dwyer will have gotten this shit out of his system by then - although I suspect not.
