Daily Mail readers work themselves into a self righteous froth over Reading Festival litter

Serious question. What exactly are charities supposed to do with these £12 tents?

My work being tight arsed bought a few of those single skin pop up ones and I can see why people may choose to leave them behind, especially if they are in a bit of a state. I've been putting up tents for years and thought it was a nightmare to try and take down. I certainly wouldn't buy one second hand and don't think they are fit for purpose if you plan to use them as any type of shelter past a few days.

Nothing, they're utter crap. I replaced my seven year old outer at Boomtown this year for a brand new one of the same model but that's a decent tent (£80 when I bought it)

I'd imagine charities would be taking the massive enormo-tents groups leave behind having paid £20 a head to purchase it before the festival. Fuck all they can do with the crap Argos and Tesco flog

I bet they must be a nightmare to dispose of as well, short of covering the dam things with petrol.

I'd imagine it would cost more to process some of the cheapo tents than it would to just bung them in the bin.

We tatted what turrned out to be an ultra rubbish and cheap popup from after-Glasto for a mate -- she was just coming along with us to Beer on the Wye in Hereford the following w/e (excellent beerfest with next door camping).

We all looked at that tent on arrival. It broke when we did ...
