Just got back from a very quick stay. It's a lovely place to visit. Anyone else been?

Coimbra, Portugal: 100 photos of night scenes, street art, architecture and Christmas lights

Not been for ages but when we lived in Porto we’d visit. It’s a great place. Your pics make me think another visit should be put on the cards.

Isn't it the site of a famous university?
When I lived in Portugal coimbra had 1GB fibra across the campus and was working towards 2GB. This was 9 years ago. A friend of mine was studying something to do with computers at the time.

It’s on the long list of places to move to in Portugal, but I’m worried it might be too cold in winter.
It's OK. A bit like south west England. If I were to move back to Portugal it's an area I'd consider. It's not andalusian hot but comfortable all year round.

Mmm I’m leaving London because it’s too cold and rainy! Other than the weather, on paper it meets all my requirements. We are going to start trying places out in a few months though so maybe we will take a look

Its a lovely place , they make spumante there. I went with a Portuguese friend whose family live just outside and he took me on a little tour of places where you knock on the door and get invited into a room or the cellar where you buy wine or spumate and eat petiscos.

It's also where I got ripped off.

I filled my tank and was charged twice for it on my card.

But I really liked it. I love Porto, I lived there for six years, but Coimbra is a little better...maybe.
