From the picture Dean might be behind the bar. A real local (less than a 100 yards) who was/is a black cabbie. I really miss the community feel of that pub probably what I miss most about living in London. It really was like a large front room pretending to be a pub except on Fridays when it got busy.

Very glad to hear that. Loved that place & spent so much time there both when it was open & shut.
Only place I have known where the compulsory door staff (for late opening) used to be volunteer glass collectors cos of the lack of trouble.

Doubt they are still giving away the free drinks though.
I'll have to check it out. When I've got time to wait for a train I usually head to The Rocket by Euston which is an unofficial RMT watering hole. Used to be cheap but pretty much £6 a pint nowadays.

Probably a 15 minute walk from Euston, you'll need it to be a long train wait .
I get the train from Kings Cross which I assumed it was close to.

I work close to these - never been in The Boot but sat outside McGlynnes a few times. Nice friendly pub in my experience.Two really good Irish pubs in Kings X
