Cardiff: Solidarity with our homeless community......

In response to proposals that homeless people be removed from the streets of Cardiff for the Olympics, we will gather to show our support for the homeless people of our city and all those who commit the crime of being poor in ConDem Britain.

We stand against cuts in housing benefit and homelessness services and the lack of affordable housing. Everyone has the right to a home.

We stand against the demonising, stigmatising and criminalising of homeless and other poor people.

Homelessness rose last year by 14% and is set to rise even more. Inequality and poverty are now the biggest moral issues of our time. There is enough wealth at the top of society to solve the problem of poverty. We need a change of direction.

We are simply citizens of Cardiff who wish to express our solidarity and compassion with our fellow Cardiffians who are poor or homeless. Join us!

There will be a protest starting at 6pm, on Wednesday 1st Aug on the grass outside City Hall (by the big Olympic rings) to
show our support for the homeless people of our city and all those who commit the crime of being poor.

This looks like it should be a fairly decent sized event as 100 people turned up to the organising event alone. Please spread this as much as possible. more information can be found on the facebook page "solidarity with the homeless people of Cardiff"
