Cardiff critical mass?

There was supposed to be one last week I think, to coincide with Car Free Day (seeing as Cardiff Council has now backed away from its original enthusiam for CFD and no longer closes St Mary's St for the afternoon :(). If you want to PM me your email I could pass it on to the bloke who sent the email round about it. There is a big latent support for CM here, and if you were interested in putting the effort in, I am sure you could build a solid group pretty quickly.

And pissing the bus-driving wankers who try to go over the top of cyclists in the bus/taxi/CYCLE lanes would be worth it.

used to be one meeting outside the museum (i think) fairly regularly a few years back. think it's just the odd event now

I was posting on behalf of a sister and cardiff uni go-er, who complains about the amount of "alternative/activist" things to do in cardiff. But yeah i'll pass on her email all the same if thats cool.

I heard that there'd been a 'go-slow' cycle around the castle on the Thursday of the European car free week/day (whatever), bur I didn't know anything about it.

Me and my girlfriend would have took part.

Given that Critical Mass in London now seems to be being criminalised by the Met, it should take the South Wales Police all of about, oh, say 3 seconds to mimic the repressive pedantry of their smarter, better-funded and more evil English colleagues.

So what say we organise a cycle-tour of Cardiff? Placards optional? ;)

South Wales Against the G8 did a couple of critical mass(es)? in the run up to the G8 this summer, weren't huge but still got the coppers excited. a few of us at cardiff anarchists were thinking of trying to organise a regular critical mass. anyone is welcome to come to a meeting if they want to propose this or help organise it.

next meeting tonight at 8.30. meet at the Wetherspoon Gatekeeper first, then on to our new and improved meeting venue at Glamorgan Council Staff Club, Wesgate Street.

cheers

I'm not yet able to cycle with only one hand on handlebars, so I woul'nt be able to carry placard sorry

Rhi, I'm no anarchist and have a Cymdeithas yr Iaith meeting anyway, but please post any porosed Critical masses here (or PM me). Thanks
