Some good news the club refused a bubble and voucher exchange, so West Brom police and football club have backed down and confirmed niether will no longer be imposed. WELL DONE Wayne Nash.
However they still have refused to increase the ticket allocation, so here is a copy of the letter sent to west Mids police, confirming the protest will go ahead unless our allocation is increased to nearer the 2000 mark.
Re: Protest in West Bromwich December 8th 2009
Dear Inspector
I am writing to inform you that we will be holding a peaceful protest in West Bromwich on the above said date, if our club is unsuccessful in their request to increase our ticket allocation from1350 to 2000 for the football fixture between the clubs on the above date.
It is our intention to hold a peaceful march from Sandwell Police station to the Hawthorns on the day of the game in protest to the clear discrimination against Cardiff City supporters shown by the Safety advisory group, West Bromwich Albion FC, and West Midlands Police with the contemptible ticket allocation afforded to us. We also have sought support from the Football Supporters Federation who have given their full backing to this protest, and are organising supporters from all over Wales and the UK to attend in support of us.
To date we have received no reason why such restrictions have been imposed upon us, to the best of our knowledge no disorder has taken place between the two clubs supporters during recent fixtures. We accept we are one of 8 clubs within the Premier and football League who must take a reduced allocation of tickets because of standing issues with our away support, but the football green guide states that the reduced allocation should be 10% for standing, and a 27% reduction for both standing and not standing in your seat. So based on the away sector holding 2500, the least amount of tickets available to us should be around 1850 mark.
The football League ensure when they did the fixture lists this season that midweek games would be closer to your home club to cut down long mid-week travelling for supporters to allow more fans to attend, our last two fixtures in midweek our away following was 2000+ at Reading, and 4000 at Aston Villa which is within 10 miles of the Hawthorns, both games passed with no incidents.
We will forward you details if there is no change in our ticket allocation forthcoming, Initial support for this march suggests there maybe 3,000 supporters so far that may attend the protest including a lot of supporters from other football clubs. If you have any queries in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours Sincerely
Vince Alm
