Captain Jack in Torchwood.

At the Army Surplus by me* they have coats like that.

Almost tempted . . . :cool:

* - Welsh, me?

Can anyone explain to me why this guy can't die? Cheers.

Jack is a renegade Time Agent from the far future who hooked up with the Doctor and Rose Tyler during the Blitz in WWII (good scary two part story if you haven't seen it The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances). Jack is a right conman, with few scruples, but his better nature sometimes comes to the fore, and sometimes it doesn't. Anyway, in the last days of the Ninth Doctor, Jack dies a heroic death in defence of the Doctor and Rose battling against the unexpected return of the Daleks. (The Eighth Doctor had sacrificed his entire race to end the Daleks, but like cockroaches they keep on coming back).

Rose, in utter desperation, absorbs the Heart of the Tardis (the last manifestation of the deep power of the Timelords and the source of the Tardis ability to transcend time and space). She is very temporarily given the power to see the whole flow and nature of Time, and she commands the Daleks to be gone. She also resurrects Captain Jack, inadvertently making him utterly indestructible. Rose's power is obviously too much for any mortal or indeed Timelord to handle, and Nine takes it upon himself via the medium of kiss and he dies. Doctor Ten ensues forthwith. When Doctor Ten finds out eventually that Jack is functionally immortal he isn't too happy about it - fixed points in time are not right by Timelord standards.

I didn't have to look any of that up - I have become my eight year old self, again

[/grammar]rose absorbed the time vortex and became super rose who then wiped out the daleks though not in a genocidal way like the copy of ten in the series four finale and brought back the victims of satallite five including captain jack and that complete prick she was up against in the weakest link all of whom became immortal for some reason or another like it being a convienient plot device in a future spinoff series but couldnt cope apparently although she seemed to be doing fine and enjoying her godlike powers and nine sucked it out of her and promptly died in a fraction of the time she had it within her fucking leather jacket wearing cropped haired wuss that he was[grammar]

The grammar tags are particularly cool. It's a pity that were they to be actual tags that you would have them the wrong way round.
