Question Cannon Powershot SX60 HS

sparkybird

ask the bird...
Hello everyone

I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on this camera?

I currently have a Cannon Powershot SX220 HS (point and shoot job) but I'm planning on doing some wildlife photography next year and would like to get something better. Back in the day I did have an SLR but I think I'm beyond this now, so looking for something in between that's not too difficult to use but would be suitable.

I realise I need to actually hold it in my hand to see if it's comfy etc, but any thoughts would be really helpful

thanks
SB

Lots of good comparable "bridge cameras" on the market - the Panasonic Lumix FZ range are good too - but really you need to decide what you're going to mostly use the camera for, then pore over the reviews and find the camera that fits your needs best.

Hello again everyone

I just wanted to say a belated thanks to those who replied esp ViolentPanda as I did eventually go for the Panasonic FZ200.

I watched some really good online tutorials from Graham Houghton (what I nice chap - he even responded to an email I sent!). Here's a link to some of the pictures I took (not too many, I promise) on the trip of a life time to Southern Africa.

I'm SO glad I got the new camera, my old one seems like a toy now! I mostly used it on P setting on the trip - but am now getting much more interested on exploring the full range of the camera. And now that YouTube exists, it's really easy to find out more.

Thanks once again everyone for reigniting my interest in photography

SB
