Should add Nick is a thoroughly decent bloke and despite having a huge amount of knowledge regarding the German army in WW2 is very much on “our” side and really fucking hates the tories.

My wife says, somewhere, we have a pic of the same man in an SS uniform from when he was on the railways.

I'll ask Mrs D to find it. Last year, before he became ill, my f-i-l threw out a lot of stuff from the house.

We have recently found post cards from WW1 front 1916 and 1917. There's a lot of history in this house.
