Camberwell news and chitter-chatter

I missed the Akwasidae Festival on Saturday - did everyone at Brixton Buzz and Urban75 enjoy it?
Why couldn't you be arsed to go, and why does it matter if I went? And if you wanted people from urban75 to go, why didn't you mention it was happening?

Funny thing is that you've never mentioned it here before. Not once.

Got a work do at FM Mangal and if anyone has recommendations for a good small dish I'd be most grateful!
I can't eat huge amounts in one go anymore and when I went there last I could only manage a fraction of my meal. :(

Is there some missing context? It sounds like a casual enquiry, not sure why the ratty response...

Oh, he does this all over the place. The suggestion here is that neither urban75, Brixton Buzz or me care about an obscure festival that he couldn't be bothered to go to himself because we're massive racists or some other bullshit.

I went for about an hour. I did enjoy it. Was nice to see another of the many ways people celebrate in the neighbourhood. Weather was not in their favour but stayed on the right side of damp. :)

Did you go?

I read this differently.
I am OK with GarveyLives prods and contributions. This thread is nothing to do with you or your buzz. Luckily you don't speak entirely for the boards.

Any side dish or salad.
I think the portions are intended to serve as leftovers. They will box them up if you ask.

In other news, word on the street (my neighbour) is that Silk Road will be expanding into the Caravaggio site after the Italian family decided to focus their efforts elsewhere.

Shame about Caravaggio. Felt like a real Italian and i had a couple of good meals there (plus 1 not so good, but it happens). What is Silk Road like? I like szechuan, is that what they specialise in?

Silk Road is Xinjiang food. Wuli Wuli did a good selection of Sichuanese dishes if you were eating in. Now it is NoKo it does some Sichuanese like the saliva chicken and the beef slices (although now minus tripe) although the menu has a more western twist.

The Joiners Arms, located on the corner of Joiners Arms Yard and Denmark Hill in Camberwell has a fascinating history that has contributed to its enduring charm.
This painting from 1850 by JT Wilson provides a glimpse into its early years, while the pub continues to thrive today.
The origins of its name can be traced back to the journeymen joiners who frequented the pub in the past. These skilled craftsmen were involved in the construction of mansions further up Denmark Hill. It is said that they would gather at The Joiners Arms on Saturdays to receive their wages.
With its rich heritage and community connections, The Joiners Arms remains a cherished establishment in Camberwell.
