Watching the teams come into the stadium .. there was at one point the Iraqi team entering the stadium.

Rather than getting up and applauding them, GW Bush remained lounged in his chair, a look of supreme disinterest on his face!

A chance to look like a decent human being missed there I think !

I find it a bit cringeworthy that we have to see Bush's face for seemingly no reason.

Like, when Canada came in. Camera on Bush. Why? What does the director think he's gonna do? Start applauding the Canadians or something? And then Iraq come in. Close up on Bush. Again. Why? Their sports people have nothing really to do with him - are we waiting for him to start wooping or something.

At least the Iraqis are there .... it appeared just last week as if they wouldn't be allowed to compete due to interference by the Iraqi government in the national Olympic committee.

Good luck to them, hope they can bring some cheer to their people.
