brillo pads shortage?

brillo pads, according to my dad, were the work of the devil - despite him using wire wool in the workshop ...

I use a natural bristle brush or a micro-cloth to remove anything stuck on that the dishwasher doesn't get first time.
e2a and then the brush gets a trip in the DW ... and the cloths are washed.
{the dishwasher gets properly filled and used on the shortest cycle with shop own-brand soluble film tablets}

life is too short to be standing at the sink ... I can be doing something else while the machine works.

It's quite an energy-efficient model - but it only heats the water it uses. And I only put it on when it's got a full load. We've a mountain of mugs !

[and we're all at least semi-retired]

What about things that can't go in the dishwasher - like the fittings on the gas hob? They get burn on stuff that wont soak off and that no brush or cloth has any effect on.

Yeah, I know - for that sort of caked on gunk I tend to use oven cleaner !

{funnily enough, and quite by chance, quite a few of my cooker fittings can fit it the dishwasher ...}

Scrub Daddies are pretty good.

I found them pretty weak tbh. I've relegated mine to the back of the cleaning cupboard.

The best scrubber I've got is the stainless steel scourer from poundland. I blitzed my place the other day and those babies got rid of all lingering limescale around the edge of the taps and plugs and draining board. Scrub daddy is at best a gentle rub and not that great for nooks and crannies as they're small and not all that bendy. I found them pretty average for scraping anything harder than light residue.
