Anybody else seen Braindead?

I started watching this last night and it is awesome. I've seen three episodes so far of the 13 broadcast last year.

It's from the people who brought you The Good Wife/Fight and is executive produced by Ridley Scott.

It's basically a very strange version of The West Wing with added alien and the story is basically this is why all the politicians appear to have gone crazy recently.

It's extremely quirky and each episode from episode 2 on starts with a song for the "Previously on Braindead" bit. I know, sounds awful but it really isn't.

Cancelled after 1 season.

I sympathise for anyone making TV about Washington at the moment, particularly satire. The writers of VEEP & House of Cards are truly the ones suffering under a Trump administration.

It wasn't renewed for a second season but I'm not sure it was ever intended to be as the story is brought to a conclusion at the end apparently. I get the feeling it was something they just wanted to do after finishing The Good Wife and before starting on The Good Fight. I've no problem with a good idea that is self contained in just 13 episodes to be honest. At least it won't drag on until it's legacy is completely ruined.

Summer Series ‘BrainDead’ & ‘American Gothic’ Canceled By CBS After 1 Season

They'd planned a four season arc.

Its not unheard of a show to get cancelled while they're still making it, and for the writers/producers to quickly tie things together so at least it's self contained.
