Has anyone else tried to watch this? The reviews range from 5 stars to 1 star... I really don't know wtf to make of it.

It's lovely seeing loads of my favourite London haunts on screen. But I really dont fucking get it. They must have thrown a lot of money at it. Totally mis-cast, and badly written. Not sure if it's supposed to be a comedy or just a tragically badly made thriller. But I'm only one episode in. It's genuinely LOL at points. But is that intentional....?

I plugged through the whole lot. Guessing it’s riding on the coattails of slow horses.

Got some decent actors in it. Guessing it’s a pay cheque not a charge towards the BAFTAs

Expensively produced bubble gum for the brain.

Lots of female charactors

6/10

I've just come off binging the second season of The Diplomat, which is obvs working at a fairly high level compared to this. So maybe I need to lower my standards here.

Watched them all last week and pretty much enjoyed it. Funny, violent and a decent cast.

Just don't take it too seriously. :)

That old 633 BMW was nice too.

Big names. yes. But I can't get Paddington Bear out of my head whenever Whishaw speaks and Reed is the actress from Happy Valley I think? But in a comedy wig and a posh accent.

I've decided it's a comedy, half way through the second episode.

I think that's generous.

I did finish it but under protest, and I'd really lost interest by the end. It could have been excellent if they'd done it as a straight spy thriller as it was a good idea.

4/10 from me.

I've not seen Paddington Bear. :D

Like I say, don't take it too seriously and you'll quite enjoy it. :)

I have a 7yo son. I can recite it line for line. Both of them. Not seen the third yet but I suspect it might be slightly more believable than the shit I've currently got going on in the background here.

p.s. paddington bear is great. hugh grant's greatest performance.

I'll solider on with this.

Worked two freezing cold nights on that back in April. Supposed to be 4th July but was ridiculously cold. :D

I watched it all but if there had been more than 6 episodes I don't think I would have. That said, I enjoyed it more than the Jackal cos at least it had some humour to it.

If there's another series it'll need to get some stunning reviews for me to bother next time.

After two episodes it makes a bit more sense but I think they should have thrown a bit more money at the writers than the all star cast. It's Netflix's big Xmas hope apparently - I'm sure the big names will draw the viewers in but not gonna bother any awards judges. I'd give it 2 stars.

As i mentioned above I've spent my sad Xmas break so far watching the Diplomat's second season, which has just got loads of golden globe nominations, without much of a starry cast.

3 eps in and we're loving it. Feel that Joe Barton might be channeling Hugo Blick's Shadow Line, and Whishaw might be channeling a young Stephen Rea. Which is not a bad thing.

Barton's arty, sometimes Soho, crime dramas versus Blick's sometimes graphic novel approach is the vibe am getting.

Knightly and Whishaw are magnificent and make this series agreeable. Even if we do get a few stock clichés, staring out of windows, meeting by the Thames and obvious foreshadowing.

Still, only halfway through - could be a wrong take on it but really into it so far.

I've finished it and thought it was enjoyable and entertaining.
I would still compare it to Killing Eve, yes I know not nearly as good, as it similarly mixes intrigue with humour.
I’d compare it to Killing Eve, too.

Enjoyable nonsense, with a final episode that could have finished after ten minutes.
