Black and White Photographs of London in the early 50's

Yes, it's a very interesting site, there is a new post every day. I've been following it for a few years now.

Some great pics of old West London, too. I used to work (in the 80s) on the estate which was built on this street when it was demolished (in the early 60s, I think).

I believe the huge building at the end of the street is Paddington Station.

The clink street one looks like the road where the clink prison stands...walking along that cobbled road always seems like stepping back in time.

yes, that's where i think it is.

I worked near there for about a year 1988-ish (before borough market got trendy and before tat modern / globe theatre etc) - was by no means uncommon to trip over film crews in action.

visited the area with a friend a year or two back, and the place i worked (then recently built industrial estate to provide jobs in a run down area) was in the process of being replaced with a tourist hotel...
