I'm in! Will book Great Western hotel early - very handy for the shuttle bus (it overlooks Exeter St David's station), and has amazing real ales. I recommend it. Rooms are a bit shabby, but I can't complain on my budget.

festivalling in a hotel :hmm:

If it's anything like Endorse It I won't like it :D

What is it that you dont like about Endorse it? ... cos ther are a lot of simmilarites beween endorse it and beautiful days. Personally i would say endorse it is better, which might mean you will hate BD, or will prefer it to Endorse it .... but it depends what you are looking for.

It was too small and I don't drink so I got bored. I know the kids would have been bored too.

Too small.... fair enough. For me it is just the right size, i am not into the bigger events. BD might be the one for you then. I will have a think though and get back to you.

Thanks :) I'm a bad parent who doesn't actually want to interact with her children. My ideal festival is to send them off on their bikes with a fiver and see them at teatime :D

Anyone with the slightest whisper of who might be playing this year...and don't say 'The Levellers' :)

If you are thinking of going with kids my son (8) loved it last year.

BD is very, very kid friendly. Special areas and activities for em and peeps there are generally really nice and will keep an eye on kids as well.

i could well be up for this ....just now going to first post checking dates etc.

'd be good to go to a festival this year and relaaaaxx with a sp and a few mates.

Not to sure about the addition of Hugh Fearnley whathisface and his River Cottage. Still might get some tips for growing veg.

New Model Army
James
Billy Bragg

Plenty more good stuff but these three plus the Levs justifies the ticket price for me :)

Not too bad a ticket price, just need to sort out the time off then will book it - does it sell out quickly does anyone know?

Hotel before and after the festie, dear. The clue is in the "handy for the shuttle bus" bit. ;)

Great bands so far - am very much up for The Destroyers.

BTW Smee, yes, it does sell out fast - get in there quick or spend ages haggling in Exeter pubs beforehand.

What you on about? :hmm: :D

edit: just found it:
The festival welcome Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Canteen to Beautiful Days. As well as the scrumptious food they’ll be serving in the cafe, the River Cottage team will be running workshops and talks during the weekend.
I'm up for some workshops :)

Tickets booked and we are heading to the sunny Beautiful Days :)
Does kitty know what the theme is for Sunday? :D
