It was probably bollocks, at least in the way the Sun reported it. However they obviously thought her political opinion, real or fiction, would swing readers behind their side of the debate:

My Paul story. I was a TaxyBike chauffeur tasked with getting him to the Hammersmith Apollo for a couple of weeks of gigs in 1999 IIRC. He was giving up the Lilly thing and seemed a nice customer. He loved the big bike experience but kept telling me utterly filthy jokes (we had helmet intercoms) as I weaved through the traffic. I remember well having to stop because of laughing so much.
Their residences are exempt from being searched, they don't pay income tax, they can drive without a driving license, ignoring any speed limit, and they're exempt from equality laws
