Barry Humphries / Dame Edna RIP

He would have made such fun of the coronation.
Sad to hear he has passed away.
89...

Always liked Sir Les Patterson. Happened to see him out of character as a guest on 'Saturday Kitchen' last year and he was hilarious.. really wish I'd gone to his stage show. He's got an interesting back story as a prankster in the 50s.

Oh wow, sad to see this. I remember going with a cousin to a Dame Edna show in Boston in the early 2000s. It was a fun time. RIP

He was hilarious. But also one of those people I thought had died years ago.

I assumed he'd died after I came across books from his personal book shelves in a secondhand bookshop in Cecil Court. He must have just been having a clear out.

I also had him in my death list alongside Rolf, Rupert, Germain and Judith Durham a couple of years ago .

Wasn't he quite right-wing? Can't remember where I read that.
Don't know about that.
But the Barry McKenzie films are really badly dated.
Of course people and the world changes and I've no idea what Humphries may have thought about those films now. But it's hard to see Barry McKenzie holds his own as another other than racist, sexist crap.
