Yep. I've always seen the whole 4chan thing as nihilistic and mildly annoying, but their attempts to trash the GitHub threads, and now these revelations, cast it in a rather different light.
 
So, we've been asked to update to the latest version by clueless Academics. I'm giving them the articles as source material that we shouldn't update it. However I'd like to give them some fork options at the same time, did anything ever come from the bickering?

There were a couple of articles where the new owners denied everything, but more believable is this from arstechnica, who didn't think there's a problem:

The community's telemetry concerns were received and addressed two months ago.
I did mention on another thread that I found it really difficult to set up just to record stuff off the radio when I first used it, but it's now set up so it automatically does that, is now really easy.
 
Does anyone still use audacity?

I have an issue when I'm recording, after 30 seconds or so it seems to automatically compress the audio leading to a big volume drop.
