Armenia and Georgia

I've been eyeing up a trip to Georgia (Tbilisi) would love to know how you get on.

Georgia and Azerbaijan are the two I'd be wondering whether its possible to do together.

I went to Batumi and only Batumi. I had planned to also go to this cool place in the mountains and camp and take a cable car but the weather was rubbish so had to change the plan.

Possible, but I would def go Georgia and Armenia for simplicity's sake. Plenty to see there. Or even just Georgia if you dont have that long.

I'm really hoping to go next year.

Its number 3 on my list for next year......

1. My cousin is getting married, so may try and do a couple of weeks travelling through Spain, because I seem to know a lot about the area I was in loads as a child, but I've only ever been to Seville in the south, and would love to go to Granada - May not be able to do this because g/f has a new job and isn't allowed leave term time.

2. Visit g/f's sister and Husband in Hong Kong - again, depends on dates.

3. Go to Georgia (if I can convince GF).

Sounds like a trip to Spain would be easier and maybe a good confidence booster for her and you could save Georgia for the future.

HK is fucking hectic and rammed and stressful, this friend of mine didnt enjoy it much when she was there recently. Serious city ting.

She's actually been to HK already, and we're going to Morocco in Dec, so she should be used to it.... Although we're having disagreements about where to go at the moment as basically all the places she wants to go are places I've been to and was a bit "meh" about.

Just seen flights to Tbilisi are 130 EURO.......

Where are you flying to Tbilisi from? We had to fly to Amsterdam and then Kiev took 24 hours.

Worth it though. It's a really great City. Easy to get around and plenty to see. It's also got a nice pace to it. We went in August which was a bit hot so unless that's your thing it's probably best to avoid that.

We had some hectic taxi rides up to Telavi but it was great to see the mountains.

Some great techno clubs there too if that's your thing. :)

Bump .. anyone been to Georgia in the last few years?
(Just having a travel-inspiration, from a book about Stalin. Really want to go to Georgia maybe this autumn)
