Anyone renting out a property ?

Before anyone else piles on, it's worth noting that this poster has been here for four years so perhaps isn't a full on capitalistic bastard landlord.

Some people can end up renting out places for other reasons that squeezing the last penny out of their tenants so maybe it might be worth listening to what help he needs before shutting him down.

But if he does turn out to be a full on capitalistic bastard landlord, then feel free to unleash the demonic horses of hell. So what's up VWT2GEL ?

Also there are some good landlords out there.

Very few, judging by what I saw when I looked up at the lamp posts on my way back from the chemist earlier.
Sure.
I have known a few ethical landlords that have charged reasonable rent and managed the maintenance very well.
However generally it could be so much better especially for the many that have no choice but to rent privately.

Must admit that there can be a valid reasons for wanting / needing to rent out a property ...

... such as inheriting somewhere that you eventually want to retire into, but need to be living elsewhere for work [eg posted abroad]

going for very short term lets [aka airbnb] isn't always the best solution.
