Anybody else use these little hydroponics units?

Bought one of these little hydroponics units from Amazon the other week for £89 just for chillie and tomato germination/growing and have to say I'm quite surprised and impressed at the rate of growth in under a week.



Twelve tiny tomato seedlings so far, but no movement on the Carolina Reaper chillies yet.

Yep, these are a cherry variety at the moment.

The light extends to 19" so it's possible to grow a small plant with fruit, but I'd imagine I'll just transplant them to soil pots once they're big enough and just use this for quick germination for more varieties.

It's this one: Indoor Smart Garden Combo Kit

I sowed lettuce in it. It works well to get things germinated but as a method to complete the life-cycle of the plants, it doesn't really provide a decent quantity of leaves for my needs.

I'm thinking of using it for something like coriander as I'd use less of that at a time.

Yeah me too, about twenty odd years ago.

Never dawned on me either!

Chillies have mostly now germinated and the toms are shooting up.
