It's been out for ever, but I only discovered it this year, so thought I'd share in case anyone else might benefit. Basically it's a really simple app/bit of software in which you create flashcards and then when you have 10 mins you can use them to re-enforce things you've learnt. Apparently it uses spaced repetition a technique from cognitive science for fast and long-lasting memorization. It seems to be working for me anyway as I always thought I had a terrible memory, but I've got quite a lot of stuff to stick
You can download other people's "decks", but I've found it most effective to make my own, as just doing so forces you to be sure you understand what your writing. Trick seems to be to keep them as short as possible so you whiz through a deck. You rate how hard you find each one, which determines how often it comes up again. I'm using it for tech stuff, but it's popular with people learning languages and in medical school. Best way for me seems to be to make the cards on the PC and then sync them to the phone.
