Angela Lansbury (I can't believe there's not a thread about her already.)

EXPLODED TIM! (Help me!!!)
The good news is that she is not dead and is still working. She is also 95 today and I just came across a picture of her from 1938 doing municipally Socialist stuff with her grand-dad, George Lansbury. She hasn't really changed all that much in the intervening 82 years

And she defeated the Nazis which is more than Mary Motherfucking Poppins ever did

My mate sometimes watches bits out of "Murder, she wrote" - the plots can be worse than DVD's in "Diagnosis murder" but there are also some very funny quips ...

I'm surprised she got the whole knighting business given what usually happens when Jessica Fletcher turns up on your doorstep

Have always been prejudiced against her because of Murder She Wrote but I shall look again at her :)
By her own admission, she took the gig for the money. She was primarily a stage actress and she was never a Hollywood A-lister, more of a highly regarded character actor. I'm sure she wasn't starving but neither pays that well so when she got a hit show which was extremely lucrative for her, who can blame her for sticking with it. It's a bit of a shame that's the main thing people remember her for though.

Loved her in The Court Jester. Might watch that again today.
The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true. The flagon with the dragon has the brew that is true.
