Android / Google Play Store Query

I need to change the country my Google Play Store is registered to from the US to UK.

Apparently I can't do this on anything except via the Play Store on an Android phone or tablet (why can I not do it on a browser or from within the Google App on my iphone or browser?!). But anyway I need to be able to do this to be able to share my Google One account with family as it still thinks I'm in the US and I haven't lived there in years now, and they're all in the UK so it won't do it because they're in the 'wrong country'

Anyone have any better ideas than loaning an Android phone off someone? I don't really want to buy a phone just to change Google Play country registration but it's a hassle all the same.

You could contact their data protection officer and ask that the data for your location is corrected under GDPR. You have the legal right to do this, and while they can refuse, if they do they have to explain why. The process is free of charge, and they have one month to respond.

It seems like a cumbersome way to change country, plus they can take upto a month? I'd rather not have to wait that long.

It is, but if you can't do it except getting or borrowing an android phone it might be the only way to do it. They have up to a month, and usually it should take less time - I'd imagine they'd have a pretty big team dealing with privacy stuff so should be on top of things.
