Alex Jones - Two Stops Past Barking?

Its wicked that. I hope his fans desert him. I don't think his bullshit will amount to much. So yes I look forward to his bankruptcy. Or even better his being forgotten and consigned to the dustbin of boring nonentities who stand for nothing.

Again, its wicked. 'Better to have a millstone tied to your neck and cast into the sea' etc. Did he stand for something once? No, he is all about shallow prosperity, temporary affluence and will lead his admirers into narrow straights to accomplish it. Which is a relief because if he ever had some integrity, instead of riding roughshod over a certain demographic with the aim of enriching himself, and selling them damaging falsehoods, he could have been a threat. He will not be remembered except as a waste of time and a dead end for anyone who could give enough of a shit to pause and reflect on this filth.

He is of the type that says "I have become rich therefore I am right, worthy, important". I read something along the lines that (on here I think) he is rich enough to the tune that this lawsuit would be small beer. He is an unlikable man, personally. Politically, he is deeply selfish. He is or was practically a libertarian last time I could stand to look at or hear him talk. Couple that with a cynical desperation for ratings, a perverse vehemence and assumed authority which comes of shite 'journalistic' standards; well, why do the people listen to so obviously a despicable politician? Who cries about being shit upon, whilst doing so much to espouse an evil politics of shitting on your neighbour, of bullying anyone who hasn't 'woken up' to his hollow con.

I know someone whose been taken in by this alex fucking jones prick and it's having very negative effects on him. His critical faculties seem to be fucked by the constant diet of twisted toxic conspiracy crap, anyway he's severely anxious and Jones' site is just serving to ramp that up to the max. At one point he decided to stop taking the tablets prescribed for his mental problems and instead take supplements that he was buying from that arsehole's site, he'd signed up for constant supplies of these capsules that contain fuck knows what so that every month he'd be charged for them and they'd be sent to him here in the uk where he had to pay the customs charges etc it ran to something like £400 a month or more.

Sorry to hear about your friend's troubles. The infowars vitamins/supplements were tested by a lab to see what they contained:

We Sent Alex Jones' Infowars Supplements To A Lab. Here's What's In Them.

What kind of deranged lunatic would buy this for $70?

It's a good scam, innit.

Tell everyone that everything the mainstream media tells them is a lie. Set yourself up as the alternative.

Then, tell everyone that everything your doctor tells you is a lie. Here, buy my pills, and my water purifier, and my...

Scum bags.

It's not just telling them that the media or doctor are simply lying, it's also about manipulating them into being in fear of the doc etc and keeping them in an anxious state whilst encouraging them to go down a path where they alienate themselves from the real life community around them becoming isolated, increasingly drawn into that sick world and it's twisted and shifting toxic flow of shite.

It's all well and good to call them deranged lunatics but the reality is that at least in the case of this bloke I know he does have mh issues and is very vulnerable to jones' particular variety of bullshit.

Oh yes. The far-right world is a very scared world. Everyone is out to get you. It must be awful if you have an inclination through an anxiety disorder, like your friend, in that direction. It's probably quite affirming to start with though(?). If you're very anxious, here is someone to tell you that you have every good reason to be scared - and, bonus, they can supply you with answers, and some pills to help you too.

If I ever look at Jones videos or Watson's (I try not to now because I don't want to give them the clicks) I'm struck by how complete their alternative world view is, and you can see it mirrored in the comments, it's a complete philosophy.

I'm sorry about your friend, I hope he can find a way out.

I guess it is affirming. I think people with reasons to be anxious often fix that onto something else so they get all worried about whatever conspiracy or something and that's much more important than meeting their genuine needs or issue they feel unable to resolve.

I hope he can work it out too, all this right wing conspiracrap doesn't really suit him at all.

Talk show host Alex Jones has responded to a lawsuit from the parents of two children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Conn. Jones has repeatedly claimed on his website, Infowars, that the shooting was staged.

In a YouTube video, Jones said he now believes the shooting really happened, and that the families are being used by the Democratic Party and the news media. Jones invited the parents onto his program for a discussion about guns.

He's done this before though.

He walked back a scare story he did about refugees working at a plant for a big yoghurt company, Chobani, which Jones (and I think it may have come originally from Breitbart) linked to some sexual assaults in the same town. The company sued or threatened to sue him and just before a legal deadline he apologised.

I'm no lawyer, but I do know that it's very hard to sue anyone for libel in America. You can say almost anything about a "public figure". Jones knows this. At this point, probably the best hope of shutting him up is to get YouTube to do something, but they're very committed like a lot of Silicon Valley people who (despite Mark Zuckerberg's evidence that the place is "very left") tend towards libertarianism and are very committed to no-compromise free speech.

They actively demonise antidepressants by the way.

Scum.

I dunno not sure I like the deranged lunatic tag tbh, I have seen a few people fall for this kind of thing (health/supplement scams I guess) and they tend to be people that are either a bit vulnerable and insecure or macho angry blokes. And there's an argument that the later is also the former if you dig a bit deeper.

He does a lot of anti-medical, anti-science stuff too, then waves his pills as the only valid answer - you can trust no-one... except me!

This is a good one. The KKK are black. Black racists. He had previously claimed the KKK was jewish.

JONES: The truth is it was the Republicans and the Christians and the abolitionists that tried to end it all and then the globalists said what are we going to do with these freed slaves coming into big cities? We’re going to make their areas red light districts, we’re going to take control of them, we’re going to buy out their leaders. And the Democrats have been f-ing you over ever since. And so have the Republican leadership. And finally Trump tries to build industry in your neighborhoods and the plantation owners, most of them who are black, are shitting their KKK pants. Because let me tell you, the big real secret is the real KKK at the midlevel is a bunch of racist black people who hate black people.

I posted this elsewhere but it's kinda relevant here too - exhaustive profile of Paul Joseph Watson, which notes his increasing attempts to distance himself from some of Jones's crazier stuff of late. After reading this, I took a look at Prison Paul's Twitter and he was tweeting a load of weird conspiracy stuff, including from Jones, about the Toronto attacks, so maybe not so much.

Alex Jones’ Protegé, Paul Joseph Watson, Is About to Steal His Crackpot Crown

I read that - i think any split may come because watson is turning (edit: or now feeling confident enough to publicly come out as one) into an open racist rather than hedging it. That pays well too but comes with an attached price - and usually a time frame.

I wouldn't disagree with that. He flirts with Tommy Robinson, Katie Hopkins and the like, but hasn't gone much further yet.

It's hardly genuis psychology of me to say this, but I think there's something weird and very personal in his relationship with Jones. Jones discovered him, when he was pushing 7/7 conspiracy theories (funny how no DAESH terror attack is a false flag these day, huh?), and gave him this life - he must be making very good money. He must also know that if he does actually split with Jones, Jones will viciously attack him - if he hasn't melted down in some way himself.

good luck to 'em

Truth in a Post-Truth Era: Sandy Hook Families Sue Alex Jones, Conspiracy Theorist

More than five years after one of the most horrific mass shootings in modern history, the families of Sandy Hook victims are still enduring daily threats and online abuse from people who believe bogus theories spread by Mr. Jones, whom President Trump has praised for his “amazing” reputation.

Now, for the first time, the families are confronting Mr. Jones in court.
