Accessing academic articles and books

Bump because I just realised I've still got another year of access to academic publishers via my university, access which I'm only too happy to rinse if anybody needs anything.

If possible could someone send to me an article?

Can anyone get a copy of this for me?

...24 hours' access costs $51 which is fucking insane, particularly as the authors would likely get none of it
Not likely - definitely get none of it. It's an astonishing system. The research is mostly publicly funded, including some labour by the academics (though they also do a lot in unpaid time usually), the reviewers aren't paid, there's not even a one-off payment to the author when the article is accepted (they are meant to be grateful) and there is zero royalties no matter how successful the article is. The journal just makes money from hosting it and having organised the reviews. It's a ludicrous system and academics should have boycotted it all long ago but they can't organise collectively because they're all so busy showing that they're better than the next academic.
