As a patriotic englishman...I have always hated the English football team...Always hated all the fake patriotic hype....pandering to the worst kind of scum who make so many english peoples lives miserable...the rich, the royals, the got lucky and fuck you brigade.....every true english patriot should be happy that the bunch of idiotic overpaid clowns have gone out.....and all those fake patriots who dont even give a shit about their neighbours let alone people a 100 miles away can take their stupid flags and stuff em up their arses......

I think Argentina are going to win against Germany, but I would love them to win because of their young and incredibly clever team.

To be fair Wales is a much smaller nation with a much less embarrassing national football team. They have had some great players and have held there own on against some much bigger international sides on many occasions.

We meanwhile have reached the quarters or better on something around 8 occasions, including a win and bronze medel.
Yeah we have had our very very shit moments but bottom line is you have to be there and be a contender to have the true heart breaking moments(last minute goals putting you out aside) in football. The germans, us, Italy, argentina, portugal, spain, holland etc all know about that, so enjoy your plucky never say die attitude and being able to hang with the big boys once in a while, its about as close as you will ever get.

and where am i gloating. I've at the very least implied we were shit, and will be for a while now. We are generally regarded as contenders at a major tournament, even the ones were we play shitely for 4 games and go home with our tails tucked between our legs.
And should we qualify for the euros in two years time we will be regarded as contenders again.

Right. And you've already won then the competition is already over. That's what happens when a winner is declared -- it's the end, bar meaningless quibbling.
On the other hand, I've not yet declared a winner so, for me, the competition is not yet over.
