Yeah, in terms of awfulness, EE wins. The Brookside crew failed on location reality, but otherwise reasonably acceptable.
Did they get the Titanic over from Liverpool and visit Stormont to kiss the Blarney stone on the Giant’s Causeway before a car bomb kills half the cast?

Looks proper scary, I managed the other 2 but i am NOT good with zombie movies, Give me nightmares. I'll see how the reviews look.

The Graun review linked to this, worth a listen! I'd never heard it before today. We didn't do Kipling at school. Mostly Irish poets.

I'm a bit gutted that I didn't get to in this film. I got a casting call to be a zombie (I assume) but it was all shot up north and you would really have to be local.
They wanted marathon runners who were on the extras books. . . presumably not because they wanted the zombies to run a marathon but, they did want extras from all walks of life to run backwards and forwards all day without getting puffed out.

It is. Thought that when I saw it at the pictures (the waking up in the hospital alone with no idea what's been happening, walking through the deserted streets etc) and Garland admitted it 'inspired' his screenplay.

Indeed. And the three protagonists play along with Ecclestone and his troops before doing a runner, much as Josella, Bill and Susan do with Torrance’s crew at the end of TDOTT.

Did you answer your own post? :D

The entire plot is the same:

Man wakes up in hospital having missed apocalyptic events. He heads out into a deserted London wondering wtf is going on. He meets the love interest and has a close escape from the infected/triffids that have overrun the place. They meet up with other survivors but realise that staying in London isn’t an option. They head for a safe place in the country. Get there – no good. Head off and find another safe place with fences and shit to keep them safe. Oh yeah, now they’ve picked up a kid. But men with guns threaten them. He lets the infected/triffids in to take care of the men with guns and they make their escape. Finish on note of hope.

I watched the first one last night. Might do the second one tonight. It was good. Does the classic thing of "actually we're the real monsters". Love that. And Jim going full on Rambo at the end is done well.
