A celebration of Feminism - as a female what has it meant for you?

Well do you want any thread with feminism in the title to be for female born women only? No one is dominating any of the said threads anyway. They are mostly dead. We just get the occasional cross thread dig by JudithB.

A celebration of Feminism - as a female what has it meant for you?

yes lets discuss - but how is this not emphasising differences: People with differing political and feminist views can still unite in fighting the oppression of all women. Women who have never read a single feminist polemic can still celebrate feminist ideas.

Transphobes gunning hard for 'paedophilia' angle all of a sudden

From my pov it can't be overstated how much the NZ local anti trans movement relies on both the materials produced by the British anti-trans movement in their various shell forms of lobby groups, and the enthusiastic reportage of it from the British media. I did a deep dive into one of our anti...

Men supporting feminisms & feminists - ideological & intellectual pitfalls?

Really? Why then have you have posted so much on all the other feminist themed threads? Sounds rather disingenuous coming from the top poster on the thread about Feminism and the silencing of women

Feminism and a world designed for men

Now, if he'd picked me up on being a member of a party that seems kind of in love with 3rd wave feminism, that would have been legit. The Green Party, as with the other political parties, seems more attached to liberal feminism, than to anything that came before.

Feminism - where are the threads?

Thanks for saying all that, I know I for one definitely relate. I remember that horrid gut wrenching pressure of trying to juggle. But isn’t that one of the things we need to be discussing as women?! Why are we not asking for a world where our feelings about needing to be there for our kids are...

Feminism - where are the threads?

Nope, doesn't help. It's bollocks. It's not a problem, or dangerous, that mothers find feminism relevant and discuss it. Oh god, don't tarnish feminism as something that mothers might be interested in! How unsexy! No normal people are going to be interested!

A celebration of Feminism - as a female what has it meant for you?

Feminism means a great many things to me in a celebratory way. But the thread title is very clear about who the invitation was extended to, which is not a bad thing btw.

Cummings aid says introduce compulsory long term contraception for the young.

It obviously poses a struggle for a lot of feminists in that so many pioneers of feminism had a grim politics bar the emancipation of wealthy women.

Feminism - where are the threads?

I'm thinking of starting more threads, these are ones I've wanted to start years ago but couldn't face the hassle at the time - what does anyone think of: feminism - womens bodies, body size, body image feminism - clothing, dress and style

Works of Feminist Theory, Philosophy & History

Back in 70s early 80s it was. Socialst Feminists of that time did deal with some of these issues as part of feminism. Socialization of childcare was one. Unfortunately Thatcherism / Reaganomics replaced the post war social welfare consensus. So all this went. More individualist liberal...
