"And the person going home is... (long pause)...(longer pause)... blah blah blah

...were thinking that they were on the fringe of making it via that route, though the second they walked into the queue for the audition for x-f/BGT they signed a deal that forced them to pay 90% of any success - from the show directly or co-incedentally otherwise - for the next 5 years to the...

    X Factor 2009!

A poster on Digitalspy had been in the audience and they were told by the warm up guy not to boo the acts, but they could boo the judges if they wanted. Because they didn't want it to seem like BGT.

    X Factor 2009!

The audience is either a lot more polite than I thought or it is being toned down in production. There was one of the baad acts, can't remember which one, that if the equivilant had been on BGT the audience would have been shouting "Off, off, off" but they seemed pretty civilised on the X

    X Factor 2009!

I'm wishing we had the BGT three X's right now. They're no cheeky girls.

Yeah, mock now but when we're doing it on BGT you'll be all like "I know him! I know him!"

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

It's true that I'd seen little of Boyle before making this thread: the main issue from my perspective, was the shabby treatment of Adam Lambert. I took the issue of Boyle's talent on faith, based on what I'd read of the judges' praise, etc. As it turns out, after watching some of her youtube...

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

This thread is based on nothing at all. The best act by a LONG way won BGT. It's stupid to start postulating some kind of ulterior motive behind the vote when the best act did actually win. And the thread starter hasn't even bothered to watch the winners, making it even more of an attempt to...

...Megan is a very attractive young woman, but her voice made me want to repeatedly smash my head into a wall every time she opened her mouth. :o BGT though Diversity definitely deserved to win. Their routines were amazingly innovative, the one who did the choreography is a genius, they were...

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

Thanks. I just listened to this song. It's an incredible piece of torch singing, to my layperson's ear. Listen to that song, but in another tab, and meanwhile, look at this photo of one of the contestants of American Idol. Pretend it's her voice. I didn't see the gymnasts, but I think that...

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

Yes, it should. The winners of the BGT really were very talented. They were tight, gymanstic, graceful, and had absolutely astounding choreography. If you want diversity, Diversity (the winners) do provide that too. A bunch of 13-25-year old lads from very ordinary backgrounds (no stage...

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

I think you're right about what it takes to become a successful performer, but if what you're having is a 'talent show', shouldn't it be the talent that wins it?

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

...not everyone will be watching the shows, so they may well only pick up what's been heard around the place. Accordingly, I've seen nothing of the BGT winners, but I've heard Susan Boyle's singing. She has a very good voice. It sounds very expressive and all that. But that's nowhere near all...

    Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert

I don't watch BGT but i have listened/watched SB on youtube (got sick of everyone at work going on about her)..... TBH JC2, i think it worked in reverse with her, contrary to what you mean.... She's got a goodish voice (imo) but not brilliant and i seriously doubt if she'd been a stunner...

    Yawning colleague

I get asked that sort of thing if ever I get my hair cut. Also, "Are you doing anything interesting at the weekend?". Yes, a habit that ranks higher in annoyance than yawning, grunting, etc, is the asking of totally boring questions.

What you been doing for the last two hours? (pt4)

That makes me sad. :( I've been watching BGT and doing yet more weeding and clearing in the garden. I've filled four big sacks this week already. I really want a small patio garden. :(

    Britain's Got Talent

except OK wasn't a mawkish melodramatic sugarfest horror show. I despise this kind of TV so when i turn over to see some confused kid crying and looking completely confused with Amanda Holden playing her part (is the only kind way I can put it) while the audience are cheering and the music is...

There's nothing worse on BGT than anything there ever was in Opportunity Knocks or New faces. Get a grip, people.
