The best pubs in Crystal Palace

:D yeah i liked that gastro creche too

On Sunday we checked out the Railway Bell too, which is really tucked away, really nice pub physically, super friendly bar woman who managed to call you darling twice in every sentence (a good thing), and three older guys sat at the bar who were friendly too and wanted to get into conversations.
I don't normally like stepping into the privacy of someones back street pub but this one felt different somehow. A fair few screens up so i expect they show sports.

nice wrought iron work around the bar

It's great for football..they have free bar snacks and there's several screens. Super friendly pub.
Still got a soft spot for the Albert even though the barman of many years was "let go" a while back.
The 'Spoons is alright. Can't stand any of the others on the Triangle these days though The White Hart is probably the most tolerable.

they had a big plate of cheese on the counter too
Yeah, usually half a dozen sizeable wedges. Very generous. Real old school stuff.
The better pub crawl around Palace is along Gipsy Hill (Colby, GHT (perhaps), Beer Rebellion, Railway Bell) rather than the Triangle but the steep hill puts people off - it's Ok walking down sober, coming up pissed is a pain.

Indeed. Downhill is probably more dangerous. :D
Ashamed to say I've never been in the Paxton but not really likely to these days - looks like an outpost of the Triangle.

the original paxton went down hill in the end then it got turned into a
really nice pub great owner use to do the odd party and as i said
before on this thread the ralway bell was the evening standerd pub of the year 2 years running
