Olympic Opening Ceremony, London 2012

Looking at it this morning, the segment about Tim Berners-Lee and the Internet with the music was my favourite.

That ROCKED.

And the surrounding love story was great. Do we know who the performers were? That girl was soooo pretty. They both played it really it well.

Not got round to them yet, busy on Twitter

Lots of complaints about NBC cutting the 7 July tribute :(

Non issue imho. The Americans took by far the biggest hit. I can understand their position on that, and (unusually for me) I don't think [NBC cutting the section] were being wankers on that specific point.

It was the best and the worst

Let's imagine.

You're at a party, and someone says lets have a whip round for the offy trip. And they ask for too much. Let's all put twenty quid in they say. Reluctantly, you hand over the twenty quid demanded.

When the booze comes back, do you tuck in and enjoy it, or carry on moaning?

(I'm spineless - I tuck in, and fuck the principles)

That was a rather disgusting but shamefully enjoyable spectacle.
Everyone stood up for the queen where I was. Even sang the anthem and waved flags. I was discombobulated.
I know people were mostly drunk last night, but some posts on here are well embarrassing. :D

Oh come on, it's got the right wing zealots spitting feathers. What's not to like about it? They wanted the changing of the guard and a 21 gun salute but got dancing nurses and victorian mill owners acted by at least one black man. It's funny.

Yes, it was hilarious. It was ace fun. That's why I why I need to see it again

It's totally irrelevant how big a hit anyone took really. I think it was an important part of the ceremony when you consider that the bombings happened a day after this

I think everyone in the UK remembers those two days

Yep. I don't disagree.

A friend's sister is representing Team GB in sitting volleyball. She was the last person taken out alive from Aldgate.

I just understand the American's sensitivity over mourning. It's not that their mourning is more important in itself, but that the scale difference is hideous. I also hate the term 7/7 for associated reasons.

It's just overexcited zealousness about the music. I don't remember the music being particularly noteworthy but I could barely hear it where I was
