Tbh, it doesn't sound much like calypso. I also suspect that these 'comic' takes on calypso weren't necessarily done with any great affection for the form.

There were complaints about the BAWMS as early as 1967. The show finally went off the air in 1978 after a run of 20 years. It took that long for the BBC to realise the programme was toxic. That shows you how seriously the BBC deals with complaints and it also demonstrates what a rarefied world its producers inhabit.

There are still people (many of them Kippers and Tories) calling for it to be reinstated. Ain't nostalgia great?
