Chelsea FC 2014-15

yeah...just can't get good fans these days

You can get lots and lots of new fans if you win something, they're not all decent though so you have to hope that your club will not forget it's established base of decent supporters while pampering the newbies.

Otherwise your usually on the ball manager will wonder why it's quiet :hmm:

This is great, I'm loving it, motm for me yesterday was Matic or Oscar. Matic is really growing into things and expanding his role, Oscar has his form back....Hazard can surely be player of the year (and is, so far), Costa just keeps scoring and has amazing movement and presence, our defense (including back-ups) are formidable...we have two of the best goalies in the world.

This is great.

And now this

It's cold at the top, but the view is fantastic :)

As if it wasnt looking easy enough the sending off killed the game and turned it into yet another training session.
Robbie Savage made a right pillock of himself (nothing new) trying to defend Yakob on motd.

It looks like theres only Newcastle out there who might have a real go at the moment unless Poyets got something up his sleeve again ready for next Saturday. We meet another Chelsea old boy before then midweek.

The starting line up yesterday looked (and were) awesome.

Barely out of second gear the whole game. I think that's our strongest team - it's got the balance of an old, blind guy in a kung fu movie.

Courtouis
Bran-Cahill-Terry-Azpi
Fabregas-Matic
Willian-Oscar-Hazard
Costa

I'd like to see more of Schurrle though.

e2a: Looks like Mourinho could be looking to swap him and a pile of cash for Reus.

It would be a brave, or foolish person to think anyone but them will win the title now. The title all over by mid november....who'd have thought it?

On the bench yesterday were
Cech,Luis,Zouma,Ramires, Drogba,Schurrle and Remy.
In addition we have Ake, Salah and prolific goalscorer Obe Mikel.

I make you right Frank.

'Dealt a massive blow' my arse, we don't need him. And we'd have had to give away a very good player to get him.

Wrexham and Chelsea legend John Neal has passed away, at 82.

:(
R.I.P.John.
1983/84 was one of our best seasons ever, especially the blistering 5-0 destruction of Leeds that sent us up.
Iirc John Neal resigned after the following season, a respectable one in the top flight, due to ill health.
There were many dark days around the Bridge in the 70s/80s but John Neals tenure proved to be a welcome change and a taste of things to come in the future.

Thoughts go out to family and friends at this sad time.

You got the feeling that Courtois would be furious with himself if we conceded and spoilt what was a magnificent performance tonight. The whole defence did to be fair. It's something I've always admired Cech for too.

I've been tempering expectations all season but I have to admit this team is looking the real deal and is getting better.

Couldn't fault that display at any moment despite Nial Quinn's appalling drama if Schalke got a throw in. Pity Costa didn't score though.

Schurrle too despite the teams best efforts to set him up.

I liked Strachans description of us as a Juggernaut :)

I wonder what odds you'd get on them not winning the title. Might be worth a cheeky fiver, it's a funny old game... ;)

Fair play to Sunderland. A deserved, hard-won point for them.

Costa gets finally gets his one game break and the team realise what we're going to come up against a lot more now.

We weren't at our best but again a lot of that comes down to Sunderland imo. They could have knicked it a couple of times.

They certainly could have, Poyet must be well pleased with their performance and at the same time he must be wondering what happened at Southampton the other week. Cattermole was immense for them yesterday.
Interesting too that the Sunderland faithful recognised the task that lay in front of their team and appreciated what was ultimately a defensive display. Like you say Dexter they thoroughly deserved a point.

As for us we will need to shake up the bag now given Costas ban, which may be a blessing in disguise. Drogba has looked lively as a sub in the last two games so maybe we could start against Spuds with Schurlle or will Jose think that Drogs still has it for 90 minutes?

Still unbeaten.....

I don't normally entertain this paper or gossips but this is funny

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ews-Messi-Chelsea-Man-Utd-Varane-Cech-Arsenal

It's Black Friday ffs, we should get him for £100m,maybe then Roman wouldn't need to go cap in hand to Adidas :D

Anyway who would you drop from our team this weekend to accommodate him? He would have to sit on the bench for me.

A couple more years and Hazard could easily be the new Messi, and who knows how many years the old Messi has left in him? Chelsea have had crummy luck buying in superstar players for huge sums in the recent past, Shevchenko anyone?

Great first half from Drogba against Spurs. Looks like he'll be taken of for the second though :(

Easy enough against Spurs yet again, they must really hate us:D

More shake ups on the way for the Newcastle game. Matic banned, Mikel on at the end tonight so we can only assume that will be the plan for Saturday. I hope Cahills okay, Zoumas a very good prospect but I'd be happier for him if he is to play against the Geordies to have Matic and Terry around.

Nice to see we aren't a one man band too unlike that rubbish just below us ;)

Still unbeaten...

After a hectic ten minutes we knocked the wind out if Spurs with those two goals and never really had to get into first gear for a prolonged period. Didier was immense for his hour , oscar hazard and William worked their socks off as well as dazzling the opposition.

Back to the north East Saturday . City looked very good against a Sunderland team that for some reason didn't build a team performance about snatching a nil nil at home. Game on and only two teams in it as far as I am concerned.
