This evening I'm partaking in a bottle of wychcraft that currently in my local b&m's at a mere £1:29 a bottle. They also had double drop and shut thi gob

had a spectacular pint last night, Buxton axe edge - its a 6.7 abv IPA, and well worth seeking out. I'm tempted to swing by the pub on my way home and have another it were so nice...

Dear Enthusiasts,

I am returning to England for a visit at the end of August. I would very much like to get my hands on some of this

The chances of me getting it in Australia are just about zero. Is there anywhere in London that will sell some of this?
Hopefully someone will know.

Been a while homies,

Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Chocolate Peanut Butter and Banana Ale 5.3%

I don't normally dig on whacky beers but this one caught my eye.
It pours dark and smooth with a small, but reasonable head.

Smells slightly of sweet banana (you know those yellow foam banana sweets- like that) but mostly chocolate.
No detectable peanut butter at all.

Flavour was not too bad, mostly chocolate and slightly sweet. Nothing to get excited about. More like a chocolate porter than anything else.
Stil no peanut butter detected.

Went down ok, one was enough but fairly average.

eta: sorry forgot to name beer - Geronimo by Beavertown brewery. You'll have to excuse me - it is 9% AVB

First off - it's overpriced. Let's just get that out of the way. No bottle of beer should be eight quid, so that's that. But, it's my birthday coming up, and someone offered to buy me a couple of bottles, so I gratefully accepted like.

Here's a film for context:

Anyway, it's fucking delicious. The warm whiskey tones come right to the fore, and work in very comfortable harmony with the stout notes. It's a fucking king, and it's a shame that it won't be more widely tasted. Worth the money? No. Worth the experience? Definitely.

Asked mrs maomao to get beer and she brought wine 'cause it's lighter'. So I went and got three Guinness foreign extras (the Nigerian one) round the corner. Have been drinking fancy ales for a while and haven't had my old favourite for a while. Delicious stuff and satisfyingly strong.

The Dublin one is only 3.8% but goes down a treat, and I'm not normally a massive fan of porter.

The W Indies one is 6%, and a bit stronger in taste. Still very drinkable though. I only bought one of each, which is probably a good thing.

I want. Where did you get them?

Or maybe ASDA.
They actually make really nice bread too. Not ASDA. A bottle of stout and a granary bread mix makes a wonderful loaf of bread.

If you like these see if you can get your hands on the christmas one they do. Not sure it ever makes the shelves in UK stores but I get a few off my mate who works for the black stuff.

Been a while since I looked at this fine thread. I heard it mentioned that this was mostly the best beer thread ever.
So here goes with this weird brew.

Moon Dog Breakfast Of Champions
Bloody Nary Red Ale

Pale malts, cider yeast, tomato puree, worcester sauce, celery salt & chillies
17263522229_d30043a6af_b.jpg

An attempt by Moon Dog to make a beer equivalent of a bloody mary.
Pours a deep red colour, not much head and quickly disappears.

Nicely carbonated, slight tomato taste at first and a little smoky not much in the way of hops or malt but a nice peppery finish. The inside of my mouth feel like it is coated with something smooth.
A pale ale flavoured with bloody mary ingredients, like it says on the label.
Enjoyable beer that would go really well with food but not so good on it's own.

Those kerrazy brewers at Moon Dog have done it again with another wacky experiment.
Most likely a subtle dig at the amount of American style pales flooding the Australian market with their passion fruit and mango hops.

Mr Mistoffelees.
Mango & passion fruit wild ale.

Pours very bubbly but no head to speak of. Bright gold and hazy.
Smells like a lambic, musty sour and citrus.
Tastes more like passion fruit than mango, nicely sour/tart. Has that funky champagne taste of lambic and is very crisp.

Overall I really like this one, fantastic flavour, easy drinking and very refreshing. I could go another right now.
V good shit.
