Yeah, its a beautiful city.

Its well know for its flea market, we went.... don't bother, its basically a car boot sale on a waste ground.

The old centre is stunning, and the graveyard I found quite interesting from a photography point of view too.

I'd go back.

I'm heading to Zagreb for work, next week. Any suggestions for places to pick up Yugoslavia tat like posters etc?

You mean ole Tito era stuff ? Its very hard to get that quality stuff nowadays, especially in Croatia , given the rancour that followed the collapse of the state.Yugo didn't produce agitprop on the scale of its neighbours up north. Its a bit chilly at the minute, but if it was warmer, you could pick over the bits and pieces in british square market. Posters don't tend to last, hardware like Busts and plaques do better.

Cool, yeah I noticed a real lack of stuff last year in Zadar, thought there might be more stuff in Zagreb. Thanks though. I'll be working in the University so maybe I'll meet a student who'll do some reprints or something for me.

Its typical of the region- it is still too vivid for many people to recall with any fondness or nostalgia-similar story in Albania.
