best song ever? always a difficult question for me as its changed over the years as another song comes along with a similar message in a new style to fit the current times my current mp3 cd has 50 of my best songs ever on it

but did she jump , get to Paris or or just get carted off to the mental asylum
used to cry at that thought as a teenager possibly one of the first songs that got me away from Showaddywaddy 
and listening more to better stuff and reading song lyrics

I couldn't even pick what my favourite Shed Seven song is, and I'm hardly a huge fan of them.
Loads of songs are my "favourite" when I'm listening to them if I'm in the best mood for them. But picking favourites is silly I think. Certainly for me. I'd be a death row chef's nightmare.

In my defense I was 12 and they were first band Id seen live after watching Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks wrestling live on tv with dad at Wolverhampton Civic
started listening to David Bowie and Jethro Tull lyrics same year though the rest is history
Showadywaddys rivals Rubettes "under one roof" lyrics were way ahead of its time though but killed their career after thier hit sugar baby love I guess it put showaddywaddy off ever doing anything with any substance
